Accommodation
This beautiful period cottage is built of local blue Lias stone under a clay pantile roof. The current owner has made a significant investment into sympathetically restoring and improving the cottage which has resulted in a spacious and bright village cottage with some generous room sizes and lovely original features with flagstone floors, inglenook fireplace, exposed stone walling and beamed ceilings.
Ground Floor
The cottage is approached over a gravel parking area through the courtyard garden to an entrance porch with wooden stable door and window to the front with a clay tiled floor. A door then leads through to the impressive dual use reception room with the dining area having a large casement window to the side and one overlooking the courtyard, both with deep sills. The flagstone floor extends from the dining area through the living room with a centrepiece stone fireplace constructed of Blue Lias stone with wooden lintel and woodburner. There is a further window to the front with deep window sill and in the corner of the living room next to the fireplace as a feature is the remains of the original stone staircase.
An oak door then leads through to the new staircase to the first floor and a cosy breakfast room with oak flooring and a window to the rear, and an under stairs cupboard. An arch leads through to the kitchen where the oak flooring continues, the kitchen fitted with wood effect units under a granite effect worktop and an inset sink and drainer. There is a built under electric oven in a stainless steel finish and halogen hob with stainless steel extractor hood over as well as floor mounted boiler and skylight window over the cooking area.
A doorway then leads through to the utility area with perfect space for a fridge freezer, washing machine and dryer, a window to the rear and a bifold door leads through to the cloakroom with low-level WC and wash hand basin.
First Floor
A split staircase then leads up to the landing and bathroom. The landing then extends nearly the full length of the cottage with two windows to the rear aspect. The second bedroom is at one end of the landing and is a bright airy room with a casement window to the front and a further skylight window in the vaulted ceiling over the bed area and built-in double wardrobe to the wall near the doorway. Bedroom one is back along the landing with two windows to the front and built-in double wardrobe. A doorway from the bedroom leads through to the bathroom with P shaped bath with electric shower over and glass shower screen, pedestal wash hand basin and WC. There is a casement window to the rear, sun tube over the wash area and linen storage cupboard. A further door leads back to the landing.
Outside
To the front of the cottage is a courtyard garden with patio and gravel seating area enclosed by stone walling with a gate leading out to the gravel parking area.
